    To me it sounds ominous. To say that the Chinese government is not behind the project would be believing in father Xmas. The Chinese are invading the whole world, and destroying it at the same time. There is no doubt that biodiversity there will suffer a serious setback, and also no doubt that none of the poor people there will get any richer from the canal. China will dry them out.

    Agreed Ven, we know already what has happened in Africa. The Chinese strategic view is at least 100 years. That’s why they were able to buy up all the steel & cement in the world, leaving the western industrialsed nincompoops looking very foolish, as they react to each new daily event. Mike
